Computational Astrophysics Research Lab
Computational Astrophysics Research Lab is a newly established research lab under National Center of Big Data & Cloud Computing (NCBC), at NEDUET, Karachi Pakistan. It’s a project funded by the Ministry of Planning, Pakistan and is overseen jointly by Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Planning Commission of Pakistan.
The goals of this lab are to explore the Universe by big data processing of astronomical data avalanches, scientific study and discovery of celestial objects (such as exoplanets, asteroids, comets, and galaxies), identification & classification of celestial objects and studying variable stellar sources and their dynamic modeling using the time series image data. It also aims to provide space science education and promote public awareness regarding Astrophysics and related fields through public outreach events. In short, we are working on bridging Data Science, Machine learning, Astronomy, Astrophysics and Society.
